OBJECTIVE: Containing Dust Or Flying Debris With Dynatect’s Machine Roof Cover
CUSTOMER CHALLENGE
Air Cleaning Technologies, Inc. specializes in engineered air pollution control systems. Their technologies and
equipment address all aspects of industrial ventilation to improve both indoor and process emission air
quality.
ACT’s customer is using the bellows on a machining center used to mill aerospace components, which generated excessive airborne machining dust. Their objective was to create a semi-enclosed structure that would keep the machining dust and debris out of the air, and prevent it from contaminating the rest of the plant.
Dynatect proposed a self-supporting bellows style cover that utilized low-friction bearings to easily glide on a rail system. The roof cover system moves easily with the gantry and still allows light to pass through.
SOLUTION
ACT built the enclosure’s frame and side curtains, using the bellows-style cover to enclose the top. Previously,
they had used a curtain-style cover, however, an unacceptable level of dust still escaped through the top.
Dynatect’s machine roof cover provided the containment, quality, and ease of installation that ACT was looking for.
